So much for waiting them out…

Yankees senior vice president Hank Steinbrenner said by phone Sunday evening that he wants to hear back from the Twins on the Yankees’ offer of righthander Phil Hughes, centerfielder Melky Cabrera and a third, lesser minor-league player by sometime Monday. After that, he plans to pull the offer, which he said is a final offer. (Source)

I don’t like this at all. It is totally unnecessary.

Why don’t they pull the Hughes+ offer and wait them out? I still think the Kennedy/Melky/Tabata offer beats what the other teams have to offer. Why do the Yankees have to get JohaNY right this second?
